House Bill 89 (Act 14) and Senate Bill 37 (Act 15) were companion bills created to protect “health care providers” who were providing “legally protected healthcare” to both residents of Vermont, and nationwide, regardless of what other states’ laws were regarding such “healthcare.”
In essence H.89 and S.37 allows for abortions to be offered by Vermont “health care providers” in states that have banned abortion and/or gender affirming care.
These two bills:
*Shield abortion providers from potential lawsuits.
*Attack Vermont Pregnancy Resources Centers in an effort to shut them down.
*Begin the process of promoting abortion on college campuses.
*Censure health care providers who discuss, refer, or wish to engage in the practice of Abortion Pill Reversal.
*Expand Vermont’s “Gender Affirming Care” to states that have banned it.
*And shield the “gender affirming care only” counseling that is happening in Vermont.
Vermont Right to Life testified in both the House Health Care and the Senate Health and Welfare Committee opposing S.37.
