The Standing Together ~ Defending Life 40th Anniversary Event at the Sheraton in Burlington drew 400 pro-lifers from all across the State. Most exciting was the fact that over 85 of those in attendance were high school and college-age students! They filled the private reception room to hear from Lila Rose a few hours before she spoke to the general audience. Many thanks to those who came to spend the evening together and also to those who generously gave so that scholarships could be given to help defray the cost for young students who wanted to attend!
Following dinner, Carol Tobias, President of National Right to Life, warmed up the crowd by exposing the “real war on women,” including sex-selection abortions and much more. Tobias offered encouragement to pro-lifers in Vermont, highlighted our successes and urged us to continue to defend life in Vermont from conception until natural death. Carol’s address was followed by featured speaker, Lila Rose, President of Live Action. Lila was introduced by Joanna Bisceglio, a member of the VRLC Board of Directors, as “the most sought-after speaker in the nation.” Lila outlined the scandals exposed by her Live Action organization as the group has gone undercover at Planned Parenthood clinics across the county. The dinner also provided the opportunity to debut the first ad in Vermont Right to Life’s 40th anniversary ad campaign, which can be heard here.
